Pain right side?

Has anyone experienced pain right side? Yesterday I had pain right rib, side and back all same level. It’s a constant pain, paracetamol, bath, nap didn’t shift it.

I phone last night to maternity unit and she said they weren’t too concerned but ball was in my court to go in or not. I just said I was shattered and if I could see how it is by the morning.

The pain has been here all night, it feels worse, it’s really painful peeing now more on the back?

Has anyone experienced this? Going to phone again, I’m 38+1 weeks.

Hi, I had pain that went from upper right rib area (below boob) and into my back, plus protein in my urine. I was referred by my midwife to the assessment unit, as pain in that area can indicate a few things, or, as in my case, was just muscular due to a huge bump and ruined stomach muscles. The hospital were very thorough and I had urgent blood tests (your liver is around there when pregnant, apparently).

I would call again and go in, especially as it's not improved overnight.

I hope you feel better soon. Ps if it is muscular, I found a warm wheat bag on my back helped a bit and just resting.

Ask them to check your platelet levels for hellp syndrome. Upper right pain is a potential indication.

Hope you get on ok @asongforthelovers . This last stretch of pregnancy is awful, I'm 38 weeks too. Nearly there (but not near enough!)

Thanks guys. I am getting kept in, getting X-rays to check for clot as I have history.

Also just found out this morning that baby is transverse, getting sent for proper scan and will go from there.

His head is on the side where I’m getting the pain so not sure if it’s him causing me the pain.

Looks like it could be c-section on the cards, terrified!!

Hope x rays come back clear. Interesting what you say about transverse lie, my baby has been flipping between full breech and transverse, he can't get head down as I've got anterior placenta praevia. (Plus he's massive!) I'm having a c section on Tuesday, it feels surreal knowing the day. I got a book from Amazon called Caesarean Birth: A Positive Approach to Preparation and Recovery that was recommended on here and I've found it handy, even though I've already had an emergency section (that was a complete blur!). Hope it all goes well for you.

@Twelvty

I refused VQ scan, there was a risk to baby, although very small I didn’t want to chance it.

Baby’s head down again, induced on Tuesday ( hope he remains head down) and will get VQ scan after birth.
