Advice needed please - blood in urine

I'm 37+2 weeks and since Thursday I have had some blood in my urine I noticed when I wiped the tissue was pink I took a sample to my midwife luckily I had an appointment in an hours time she said it was definitely blood but there was nothing to worry about. I told her I have been having a mucus snotty green substance when iv been wiping after the toilet for the last 2/3 weeks and she said that it was more than likely my mucus plug coming away.

Then yesterday morning when I went to the toilet I had the same blood in urine and when I wiped there was more mucus than usual with a small pea size amount of streaky blood.

Today i have woke up feeling very groggy, sick, loss of appetite and strong period pains (which iv had on and off for the last week anyway). Been to the toilet but when I wiped and there hasn't been any mucus but a string of dry looking blood and my urine didn't look as pink?

The midwife said unless the blood is bright red like when you cut yourself then I don't need to worry, she also booked me in for my next appt in 2 weeks but said I have got a feeling I won't be seeing you!

Has anyone else had them kind of symptoms and may I be going into labour very soon? I can't help but feel concerned when I see blood.

Thanks for reading :

Heya, sorry that no one has replied. I'm afraid I can't help either, I'd try calling NHS24 to ask just to be on the safe side. Good luck.

In my experience op blood in urine is never ok!... however if the blood is not in your urine but coming from say loosing your plug that seems like less of a problem.

Do you have a triage number you can call to get advise from another midwife?

Go to the GP, walk in centre etc.

Sounds like things are starting for you :)

A bit of blood in your plug is perfectly normal. I assume the midwife checked your urine for infection markers which is why she wasn't concerned.

I had this at 29 weeks and i was put on delivery and day assessment given countless samples and they didnt find anything. I was in lots of pain across my back too, in the end i went to gp and she gave me antibiotics for a kidney infection and it cleared up within days. So if youve tried midiwfe and no luck i would say gp. What annoys me is that when youre pregnant everything is blamed on pregnancy, my gp was very good and i took my notes and explained that hospital hadnt found anything. Although theres was always leukocytes and protein in ny sample it would get sent off and never hear again so "assumed fine".

Personally I'd phone the delivery ward for their thoughts - make sure you also tell them you feel unwell
It's probably fine but worth checking out for definite
