Please can someone tell me what to do about bleeding?

Hello, I started bleeding a bit yesterday at 5w3d, rang midwife who told me all the things it could be and said to contact GP if it got heavier or I had any pain. Didn't mention the early pregnancy clinic at our local hospital, which is a self-referral clinic for anyone with bleeding/pain and a positive pregnancy test.

It's ongoing today but no worse (no clots, I'm wearing a pad but it's not soaking through). No pain. It's more than spotting but less than a period. (Although my periods are very heavy so don't know how helpful that comparison is!)

Should I go to the gp or the clinic on Monday? Clinic says they don't often scan women before six weeks, which would be Tuesday, so should I wait until then? Can it wait until Wednesday, which would be easier from a childcare perspective? (Can get to GP easily on Monday though)

Two extra bits of info - it's my second pregnancy, no bleeding at all first time. Also the pregnancy tests were very, very faint, but came up as pregnant on a digital clear blue (haven't tested since, got one more left, should I do it with FMU tomorrow morning?

I had bleeding early on in my pregnancy and it turned out to be a UTI.

Try and 'evaluate' your need to wee. Are you going like normal? Do you feel like your busting to go and then only produce a little or nothing?

UTI's do cause some bleeding. You could also call 111 and see if they can get you in to see someone today or tomorrow too!

If you are happy to wait until Wednesday I would try and wait. Past 6 weeks gives a better chance of seeing something on the scan.
As awful as it sounds waiting can't change anything. Except maybe give you a better chance of seeing something at the scan.
If the scan is too early they will advise you to come back anyway.
Hope everything is ok x

I'm fairly sure it's not a uti- wearing normally and fairly obvious which hole the blood is coming from.

I'm happy to wait until Wednesday for a scan but would a hcg blood test on Monday be helpful?

The truth is it doesn't matter when you go in. If something bad is happening at this stage, nothing can be done to change it. Definitely go in this week, but assuming you don't get worse, it's fine to go whenever is convenient for you. Try to keep in mind that there are many perfectly harmless reasons for light bleeding in early pregnancy, so try not to drive yourself crazy.

Yeah I think I will wait. Thanks everyone.

I had this every day for about 3 weeks. By Week 9 it had stopped. I was told it was just cervical irritation.
