I have been fighting a cold for a few days and thought I was winning. Slept so badly last night I am desperate for something that works.

I cannot breathe properly and hence sleep like s.... Looks like I o/d on Olbas nasal inhaler last night as my nose started bleeding this morning (has done several times this pregnancy). I am so tired and really would like a good nights sleep.

Any advice on what helps (apart from sleeping upright which I can't) please ?????

I opened a "decongestant needed" thread here yesterday for the same reason.

I spoke to the midwife yesterday and she confirmed that it was fine to take Sudafed decongestant.
I took some last night and it cleared my nose and sinuses a treat but I still couldn't sleep. Bugger.

For any other cold related aches and pains you can take paracetamol but not aspirin or ibuprofen.

HTH.

Oh Sponge thank you thank you thank you!!! That was exactly what I'd hoped for. I normally take Sudafed.

I'm off now - skipping to chemist!

Don't let the phamacist put you off.
The one I bought from tried to say it might be risky as there is a " consult you doctor if pregnant" wanrning on the pack.
I told her I'd just come from MW who had told me it was OK so she sold it to me but I think if I'd just gone to the phamacy and asked they would have told me it wasn't safe.
MW told me phamcists tend to play it super safe when in fact lots of medicines are fine to take.
