Have I miscarried?

So today has been very stressful. I had some brown spotting and went for an early scan. I am meant to be 9 weeks pregnant according to my dates but baby only measured 6 weeks!?. They couldn't find heartbeat so did an internal which is relatively normal for 6 weeks and I have to go back in for another scan in 2 weeks time. Is this even possible or have I miscarried. Apparently the scan didn't show signs of miscarriage but I know when I ovulated and me and the husband only did the deed around this time.. I also had a positive test the day of my missed period. I'm devastated but wishing for some hope.

I think truly only time will tell. You might just have a bit of spotting and go on to have a great pregnancy , but sometimes the baby is not developing properly and a miscarriage is inevitable. I've had 3 miscarriages, all devastating , I also bled all the way through my 4th and had a perfectly healthy baby. My friend was told in her 1st pregnancy that there was no heartbeat early in the pregnancy and went to full term. Baby was fine. I hope everything is fine for you, if you can try to rest and not worry too much. i know that is difficult if not impossible but really there is nothing you can do. XXX

If you are sure of your dates and baby measured 3 weeks behind that with no visible heartbeat, I'm afraid I would prepare yourself for the worst. I'm sorry.

The NHS will do a second scan just to absolutely rule out the possibility that you have your dates wrong and it is a viable continuing pregnancy since 6 weeks is right on the cusp of being able to see a Hb, but three weeks behind is a lot and at 9 weeks a heartbeat would be expected to be seen.

I didn't have any spotting/discharge - so slightly different circumstances. But if you look on that thread there was lots of good advice/experience from other posters.

I had my first scan at what I thought was just over 7 weeks... I was measuring just under 5 weeks obv no hb. I knew my exact dates. I went back a week later, hb was there but still measuring earlier than my dates. On my 12 week scan, I was exactly as I calculated with my dates. Try not to worry x

Just to update. Since Friday bleeding has got heavier and bright red with cramping. Bit like a period. Epau have said they still want to see me a week on Friday unless the bleeding gets very heavy and I pass clots. They still haven't said it's a miscarriage but deep down I know it is.

Be kind to yourself and get lots of rest. It never makes it easier but remember that sometimes these things happen, it's not your fault and there's nothing you could have done.
