So i am 8 weeks and i weaned myself of my anti depressants when i found out, with advice from my doctor. This week i feel my mood is awfully low. Have no drive to do anything. I am a home carer for the elderly so i am struggling just now. Will this get any better? I dont want to take tablets while pregnant and breastfeeding. Anyone in the same boat?

Did you come off your medication because of advice from your doctor or did you decide to come off them yourself?? Withdrawal is horrible as I found out when I stopped my anti depressants when I found out I was pregnant at 7 weeks but after speaking to my midwife half way through the pregnancy there is no need to suffer! There are anti depressants that are safe to take during pregnancy I'm currently taking Sertraline which apparently is quite a popular one. I was very against it but I figured it's better for the baby for me to be well rather than depressed X

I phoned the doctor to see if it was safe to take them she said it was like any medication its better not having any. I chose to come off it and she prescribed a lower dose for a week to get me off it. Got my first midwife appointment on the 2nd so will bring it up. I was hoping that because im pregnant and got something to look forward to that id be happy

I know I thought exactly the same thing @1987Laura but I waited for it to go away and it didn't. See what your midwife advises but don't suffer in silence!

I will mention it to her. Thank you.
