I had period pains for about an hour then it went off until I just went it the kitchen to clean up and felt it come on again after 5/10 minutes of standing. I find if I standing or walking too long it just builds up pressure in my back and this pain comes on. Is it normal?

Well sounds like labour could be starting.

hungrytillater · 20/09/2017 17:41

I had a lot of these pains in the run for labour. If you have a hot bath and it goes away, not labour,if you have a hot bath and it carries on maybe labour. If it stop you sleeping, very likely labour.

dede124 · 20/09/2017 17:45

Is it likely to be as I'm only 37 weeks and this is my first baby? @Cacofonix @hungrytillater

You're full term. Not all first babies go over by any means. First babies are actually more likely to be early OR late than subsequent ones.

I had these at 37 weeks. It wasn't labour starting although midwife said it could be. 38+6 today with first baby. They're back.

Actually kind of hoping this is it...

Yes you are full term and although statistically first babies are late that isn't for all babies. I had these sorts of pains 24 hours before having DD1 and a few days before DD2. Agree with having a bath to ease them. Then see how things go. Hope your bag is packed!

I suppose so @TiramisuQueenoftheFaeries iv just been used to everyone saying I'll be late.

@ememem84 good luck Flowers hopefully this will be it for you!

And yes my bag is packed just in case @Cacofonix Smile

Pains have gone off now so maybe not :(

I'm a day shy of 37 weeks op and I'm having these pains too , have had them for the last three evenings.

I tend to go overdue so I reckon for me they don't mean anything!

I know that's not helpful but I thought I'd chip in Smile
