Overweight and doppler

At 16 week appointment, do they listen in with doppler?

I'm overweight, will they still be able to hear?

Do they do this at consultant appointments or just midwife?

I'm overweight and have had no problems hearing baby at appointments with the Doppler.

Some Trusts try to listen at 16 weeks, but often with the caveat that it may be too early. Babies are small at that age and hide easily, so don't panic if they can't find it at 16 weeks. Some Trusts don't listen that early, so yours might leave it until the next appointment.

I only had one appointment with a consultant, but she checked the heartbeat as well as the midwife.
