Miscarriage worries

So i finally got to tell my midwife about some pink spotting i was having when i wiped and also about something that lookes like yellow phlegm with a red blood streak in it when i wiped she told me to go to a&e which i did. They took my blood pressure & urine sample and told me the EPAU would call me tomorrow. Due to me worrying and being anxious i decided to get an early reassurance scan. Very happy to say baby measures right (8 weeks) and also got to see a heartbeat. My current concern is lower backache and my breast tenderness reducing some today. Has anyone had this & still had a healthy pregnancy?

Hi, I'm also 8 weeks and have been spotting for 2 weeks now so I can feel your pain. Had a scan at 6 weeks and heartbeat was seen and having another Friday as the spotting is still ongoing. All the professionals are saying not to worry and spotting is common at this stage but it's impossible not to, some days it's pink others it's a light brown, I have had a reduction in breast tenderness also but that has come back today after 3 days. I hope everything is ok for you.

Hi hopeful, the phlegm for me this time around is very normal, I have a lot every time I wipe. As for the blood. It doesn't sound too much and I'm glad you have had a scan for reassurance! I have had very small amounts a couple times, I would say light pink tinge in the phlegm - but that always coincides to 1-2 days after sex. Do you think that's a possibility?
Hopefully you will get another scan at your EPU today to put your mind at ease

In the phlegm the streak wasn't light pink it was red. My spotting is always pink and it's not every day. Woke up today with the mildest cramps which seem to have gone now (only woke about 10 minutes ago). I did have alot of pink mucus once after sex, mentioned this to the midwife who said it's not normal and to mention any more spotting. My breast tenderness isn't completely gone just reduced a little from what it was. Do you guys think the lower backache is a bad sign? I'm going to see my doctor today and think i may ask him to check my cervix

Yes speak to the doctors and let us know how you get on! It is a very good sign that you have seen the heartbeat tho an 8 weeks the chances of miscarriage are significantly lower after heartbeat has been detected at 8 weeks!

Thank you poppy! I'm trying to cling to every positive thought i can because I've never dealt with stress well at the best of times but since being pregnant I've had the most anxiety ever. Because i have worrying so much it has been hard to enjoy my pregnancy. Even yesterday before my scan i wasn't excited about it because i was preparing myself for the worst

Tell me about it everything was great for me up until 6 weeks exactly when this spotting started and have been an emotional reck ever since, I've been signed off work due to the stress of the bleeding it's just impossible to focus on anything so I know how your feeling! Keep us updated, il sure you will be just fine

Not had the spotting but the breast tenderness came and went for me. They're currently not hurting at 31 Weeks but did at 8 weeks and then again at 12 weeks and every so often since then. Glad the scan went ok and good luck with the rest of the pregnancy

Thank you doorpost! So doctor has signed me off and i have another scan on saturday with the EPAU. So far today no spotting, just tired & backs still aching so I'm going to rest up. How are you ladies feeling today?

I have a cold and 3rd trimester sucks all the energybfrom me it seems. Battling sleep but I might just let myself sleep as I need it. ..

Yeah you should rest doorpost! My cousin did mention something going round, take care of yourself and put your feet up for a little!

Much better had another scan today and little bean is very active & heart is still beating away so very happy at the moment. No more spotting either. How are you ladies?

I had my scan Friday an baby was absolutely fine between 8/9 weeks. Still having the spotting tho but they couldn't see any reason for it on my scan so trying not to worry about it now.

YES I’m 9 weeks today

Mine has been going for 3 weeks now, no reason for spotting om the scan so just trying not to worry about it now, they said at the unit some people can have it all the way through! I hope that’s not the case tho! How’s long did yours last grapes?

Had 2 scans now so really just trying to put it to the back of my mind until my 12 week scan in 3 weeks 😁

Had no spotting as of late just very very tired & nauseous in the evenings. I wouldn't worry about the spotting as you've seen a heartbeat so that's a very good sign

Very true! Touch wood it has stopped the last three days 😁
I’ve been very lucky and had no sickness at all my only main symptom is tiredness.
