Hi all,
I think I'm about 4 and a half/5 weeks pregnant.
I just wondered of anyone could give me some advice on what is normal and what I should worry about.

For the last 3 days I have had wjat I can o my dead to e as light period pains in my lower abdomen.
I don't usually suffer with period pains.

At night I have also been woke 2 out of the last 3 with horrible cramps a bit of a mixture of period pains and trapped wind bad enough to wake me.

Is this normal or should I worry?

Thank you everyone x

Normal. In terms of percentages your uterus expands more in early pregnancy than any other point. I had it with all 3 of mine - much much worse first time round (I assume it was a bit more stretchy 3rd time!)

Yep I had the exact same thing! Woke up a couple of nights in a row with VERY strong cramps which I assumed was AF making her arrival, but no Smile still get them sometimes now and I'm almost 9 weeks.

Yep, normal!! It can be quite uncomfortable at times which is a bit unsettling.

Also, just a warning but if you orgasm in early pregnancy it feels like (mild) contractions down there! Blush

Totally normal. Always felt like I was about to come on.

TheEdgeOfGlory266 · 19/09/2017 08:25

And also what @NickMyLipple said... except mine weren't mild. I felt like a train has just hit me in my stomach. That's how i knew I was pregnant again.

Yep totally normal as everyone else has said. I've had period type cramps with all of my and this time extreme gas pains.
36 weeks pregnant now, still get the odd period pain here and there but that's down to the weight of the baby pressing on my ligaments.
Congratulations

Alpinebetony9911 · 19/09/2017 09:45

Oh good, thank you all for the reassurance. I was beginning to think something was going wrong.
How long does it last for?
Are there any other weird and wonderful symptoms I should know about?
Although I feel tired I'm also having trouble sleeping, I just lie there wide awake at 3 in the morning. Confused

I'm exactly the same, started about 4 weeks and just starting to settle at 9 weeks, both the cramps and the gas!

Oldschool41 · 19/09/2017 11:38

It's totally normal to have cramps in early pregnancy, your body is working out no period but time to start preparing for a growing baby. I had cramps when my periods were suppose to be due

AlexsMum89 · 19/09/2017 15:50

@NickMyLipple - I'm so glad to see your comment about orgasms - I had this in my last pregnancy, but I'm sure it wasn't just early pregnancy, and it's happening again now. I had no idea if it was a 'thing' or not though. It makes me scared I'm hurting the baby!

NickMyLipple · 19/09/2017 15:52

Haha, yeah! Someone should write a manual about all this stuff!!
