Blocked sinuses. Help

There's probably a million thread about thi but her we go. Tried and tested cold remedies please. My sinuses are so blocked my entire fave is swollen and I have the worse earache known to man.

Saline nose spray. It's fantastic stuff. I never use anything else now.

You need a netti pot. And you use it with bicarbonate/salt solution. Clears amazingly and totally safe.

Big boots sell them. Or small indie pharmacies too

I didn't see how it could possibly work, but it does. Don't get the Calpol version (comes in tiny bottles), I use Sterimar.

Although the idea might seem a bit strange I can't encourage you enough. It's really fantastic and effective.

What do you actually do with a netti pot, ^Boris* ?

I was sceptical about even sprays until a couple of years ago (friend of mine raved, I tried and thought fantastic). But I am cursed with the family wonky sinuses (we all get colds which settle in - DSis even had her drilled) so am definitely up for trying pretty much anything that'l, help clear them.

Oh you poor thing. I get sinusitis every time I get a cold which mercifully is only once a year or less. I'm at the tail end now and my sinuses are self clearing. The green/yellow/brown gunk pouring out is simultaneously the most disgusting and most satisfying thing in the world.

This is the one that it widely available and it comes with a bunch of pre mixed salt/bicarbonate sachets.

If my sinuses are infected I might empty a probiotics capsule in the mix too - but since I've been using this my incidents of sinus issues have dropped significantly.

Sterimar but the one with copper, not the standard one.

Also, if you can, try acupuncture, they should be able to treat you safely. I had a rotten sinus infection all through Last winter, got one a few weeks ago and tried acupuncture which cured it.

Also snoring relief strips from boots. I'm suffering at present too. 38+5.

The snore relief things have the same effect as pinching your nose - you know how that can sometimes relieve the pressure for a bit? They've helped me be less snuffly at nighttime

Thank you so much everyone. I'm going to be stocking up. I'm moving house on Friday and I do not have the time/energy/patience to be ill. Grrr. I do pick my moments
