Have a ds and dd 17 months apart and am really keen to conceive again. DD is now 6 months and I am bf her 3 feeds, and giving her 1 formula feed per day at the moment (although having to top the bf up with formula every so often as she seems constantly hungry. Have started her on solids. Just wanted to hear from anyone who conceived whilst bf or mixed feeding and if so when....My AF haven't restarted yet...
Started a thread on the conception thread too but wanted to tap the brains of those of you lurking on this thread too....
Thanks in advance of your replies

Hi LucieB - I'm in the exact same position, dd aged 6.5 months is on 3.5 feeds a day and we're trying to conceive - no AF either. I don't have any suggestion I'm afraid, I think it'll have to be when we've wound our bfing down to nearly nothing then AF might return. Spoke to my midwife about this and she suggested BDing every 3 days so we'll hopefully 'catch' the first ovulation before AF - of course DH is delighted with this prescription.
Lots of luck and keep us posted!

Will do - thanks! And best of luck to you too. I must be mad going for 3 under 3

Lucie - I have 3 under 4. Everyone tells me I'm mad, and it is incredibly hard work. But I wouldn't change a thing. I think it will be especially worth it when they are older.

My periods came back after 5 months. I was still mainly breastfeeding but was giving a bottle in the evening. Only downer is that with DS3 they changed my due date four times as my body hadn't properly got into the swing of things. Good luck!

You can buy an ovulation kit and check if you are indeed ovulating !

This is a bit grim but I have had some stomach/back ache recently and yesterday noticed that I had a brownish discharge - wonder whether that could be the start of my AF coming back. Do you usually have a light one first or do you return straight back to normal ones? Can anyone shed some light on this for me so to speak

Still having orangey-type of egg-white mucus which seems odd to me so am going to see the doctor this week. Am also getting some tummy ache on and off as well as lower back pain. Anyone able to shed light on this? Am keen to conceive again - now bf dd in the morning and evening only....just want to get pg again, particularly before I have to return to work!!!

I know my friends wife, hasnt had a Af and is still BF, and baby is one in December, and she is now expecting baby no.2 in December this year, does that help???

I looked on fertility friend website and it said that a lot of the fertile type of mucus can be symptomatic of an anovulatory cycle. Have tried doing some OPK tests and they are coming back negative so sadly don't think anything is going to happen for me yet. Also went to the doctor today and he told me I have Group B Strep (after tests were taken). Hope this doesn't compromise my chances of conceiving....
