Just wondering really, it definitely gets bigger and harder (oo-er, sorry no pun intended!) I'm only 11 weeks pg too - seems very large for 11 weeks......

Could it be because you've just had your dinner?!!

HopeIGetSomeMegaEggs · 04/04/2007 20:41

I think it's a fluid thing I remember my (4)bumps being like that.

HonorMatopoeia · 04/04/2007 20:42

I suppose so, but then again I can't eat a lot in the evenings at the moment and it doesn't get bigger at lunch time - strange!!

It could be your posture gets worse as the day goes on.

Pheebe · 04/04/2007 20:44

Don't people get shorter as the day goes on? something to do with your spine squishing up, totally normal and you don't normally notice it. Could be that I spose and fluid retention

Isn't it odd the way our bodies take on a complete life of their own during pregnancy?

My theory is that your abdominal muscles get tired having tried ( valiantly but unsuccessfully ) to hold everything in .

I don't have much of a bump but find that my tummy looks bigger in the evening. To be honest, it's generally wind and water!! A parp and a pee and it's back to normal!

diddle · 06/04/2007 14:11

My bump does exactly the same. I am 15 weeks today and it is definiftly harder and bigger at the end of the day. i think its the food and water filling me up.

madmumNika · 06/04/2007 18:58

I think a lot of people find this, I do anyway! My midwife friend said it's a simple fluid & gravity thing- when you've been upright all day (sitting or standing) the extra fluid you store when pregnant slowly migrates to your bump making it seem bigger by the end of the day. First thing in the morning when you get up it will probably be its smallest. The fluid is also why it feels harder at the end of the day. Think that makes sense to me!

Diddle - I am 15 weeks today too, and I definitely have a far larger tummy at the end of the day, when I do look pregnant. First thing in the morning I look quite normal
