I do already have a DS and DD.
But they are both primary school age now so I can't quite remember!

What cravings did you have (sweet/savoury) and what gender?

I went mental for pickled onion monster munch and salt n vinegar sticks with DS. But I also had a huge craving one night for pancakes - I threatened to kill my OH haha!!

But I can't really remember with DD. I wanted to suck on flannels towards the end, but I can't remember food wise!

I've been eating cereal non stop and I'm due to have a girl in 4 days. Wish it would be quicker, I must be off my head on sugar. I get through a box of frosties on my own every few days Grin

peachgreen · 14/09/2017 21:58

I'm having a girl and all I want is fresh tomatoes and pickles! Mmmmm.

Sucking on flannels / crunching ice is a sign of an iron deficiency!

MrsPringles · 14/09/2017 22:00

I have a DS, all I wanted to eat was caramel, literally anything caramel, orange Capri suns and chip shop chips
So quite a mix Confused

I cried when the local chip shop closed for a refurb mid pregnancy hormones

TriJo · 14/09/2017 23:16

DS: Chips and gravy

DC2: Soup noodles

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 14/09/2017 23:24

Pints and pints of milk with dd.

Loads of bacon with ds.

GrockleBocs · 14/09/2017 23:30

Dd1 green grapes. I ate a ton. Don't think I've eaten one since.

TotalUnknown · 14/09/2017 23:43

I had the same cravings with all my dc, just they got stronger and stronger with each pregnancy. I have both boys and girls - it made no difference.

blueonblue · 15/09/2017 02:54

DD - Sweets, especially milky ones like M&S milk bottles. Even worse when breastfeeding her.

DS x 2 - Pickles, soda water, strong spicy, flavoursome things, anything tingly.

AnnaT45 · 15/09/2017 03:38

Dd1- rice and milk (not together)

Dd2 - rice

What boring and wasted opportunity for a good craving I missed Grin

TheRockingGazelles · 15/09/2017 04:00

Dd1 - picked onion crisps/space raders and also wotsits in first trimester, just wanted to suck the flavour out of things. Lots of chocolate in the last trimester.

Dd2- beef crisps and crunchy crisps. Just wanted to crunch, ice also. Final trimester lots of ice cream and melons.

Ds- just food. Carbs carbs carbs. Also wanted to get my saliva going so had lots of sour haribo. Chocolate gave me heart burn.

First baby and absolutely no cravings. I've had the total opposite and have food aversion instead. The only thing I've noticed though is my appreciation for the smell of vinegar on hot greasy food (onion rings/chips) but I liked that anyway. Expecting a boy.

Toomanycats99 · 15/09/2017 06:55

Dd1 I went off anything sweet. No real cravings apart from a brief period of ham and cheese toasties. Dd2 I went off meat.i also could not bear the thought of bananas and there was one horrible day when dd1 was trying to get me to open an overripe banana for her and I had to go and be sick In The toilet!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 15/09/2017 09:25

DC1 I went totally off chocolate and sweet things.
DC2 I couldn't get enough chocolate.
Both boys.

Oddsocksforeveryone · 15/09/2017 09:44

Ds1- cocoa pops and aniseed (black jacks etc)
Ds2- beef mince, unfortunately from 12 weeks or so I would instantly vomit if I gave in and ate any. Cold Rolos, had to be cold. Kept them in the fridge.
Dd- pancakes and chocolate sauce, glazed donuts and cheese. I could not get enough cheese, especially if it was melted.
Ds3- currently 33wk 4d and this baby wants meat calzone followed by Krispy Kreme glazed donut and Mars bar. He doesn't often get it and isn't very happy about it.

So, don't think there's a pattern there?
Strangely though an aversion to aniseed was one of the first clues I was pregnant with Dd.

singadream · 17/09/2017 07:05

All theee of mine were a surprise.
Dd - avocados and maple syrup
Ds1 - juicy fruit sweets like opal fruits
Ds2 - orange juice but had GD so when that was discovered not allowed it.

But my friend was pg at same time and also wanted opal fruits and had a girl

DD - crisps in the first trimester. All the crisps. Then chicken and oranges.

DS - just Fanta Orange. It was hot when I was in the first trimester and I longed for fanta orange.

With both of them I went violently off alcohol and seafood. With DS I went off cream cheese, which was unfortunate as DD loves a cream cheese sandwich and I kept getting it on my fingers Envy

BorisTrumpsHair · 17/09/2017 07:51

Dd1 cake
Dd2 coleslaw

harrietm87 · 17/09/2017 09:05

Only 10 weeks but I've been craving fruit and fruit juice (oranges, apples, strawberries), especially really cold from the fridge, and have completely gone off chocolate (usually my favourite thing in life!) and coffee - even the smell makes me sick!

ChocolatePancake · 17/09/2017 10:54

My eldest son I craved anything spicy, ideally just hot chilli peppers on their own or mixed in with something. Singapore fried rice was like heaven on earth! I was also sick at the sight of sweet corn (which I love usually). It was pretty early pregnant when that stated and Asda were doing a taste sample of some steam veg and it knocked me so sick I was close to passing out... after that sweet corn just made me stomach turn! Very very strange!! With my youngest son I craved lemons, fresh lemon juice... but also heartburn radiated me throughout that pregnancy so I craved something that gave me a great deal of pain if I had it. No aversions that time as far as I recall.

Has anybody noticed how absolutely AMAZING food tastes when you're pregnant, and then you eat the same foods afterwards and it's just so incredibly disappointing?! Lol. I'm early right now and haven't hit the food-is-heaven stage but I'm looking forward to it to be honest! Cake

Sugary things like Haribo, which I normally detest and dairy (especially cottage cheese), despite being vegan at the time of conception. I'm having a girl.
