Losing plug - how long? Probably TMI.

I'm 39+1. I went for a wee this morning and when I wiped there was definite 'snotty' discharge tinted with a small amount of blood. Looks identical to photos I've found on Google re losing your plug. Loads of pelvic pressure/pain and lower back pain too, had to take paracetamol but nothing seems to have progressed. However there's still discharge coming out, not loads but I've had to wear a pad (more for comfort) and there's more when I wipe. I've Googled and seen something about calling midwife if you lose more than two tablespoons but I don't think it's been that much. Should I be concerned? Baby seems fine, wriggling around as I type.

Show or mucus plug can go on for a long period of time and is normal to be blood stained. It doesn't mean labour is iminent either.

This happened to me at 39+2. I had a show like you describe in the morning & baby arrived later that day Smile Good luck!

Thanks guys! I don't think she's in any rush to be honest but it's reassuring that she's at least thinking about exiting!

With DS1 lost it Wednesday morning, went into labour that evening and he was born 6am Thursday morning

DS2 lost it on Tuesday afternoon and continued losing quite a lot of discharge but didn't go into labour until late Thursday afternoon.

Good luck

Well girls DD woke me up this morning at 6 am with bad back pain, I made it to the hospital at 9:30am, was already 9cm and baby came at 10:43am with nothing but gas and air (no time!) and an episiotomy.

We're both well but staying in overnight as she'd had a bit of a poo inside.
