Hi all

I got my BFP on the weekend after my period didn't arrive. I'm a bit worried as the weekend before I had a really bad toothache and had a dental X-ray and was taking the maximum dose of Ibruprofen. I'm hoping as it was so early on ie about a week after ovulation and implantation wouldn't have occurred that it might be ok...?

Its too early for anything to have passed through to the baby yet, the placenta and umbilical cord Dont start working until a few weeks after implantation, hence you have numerous women who had drinking binges in the early days before finding put they were pregnant and all is fine.

Thanks! That's what I was hoping

I thought ibruprofen was ok in pregnancy. If it's not, my DD turned out fine anyway - I'm sure you and yours will be ok too and I hope your toothache is better now.

Ibuprofens fine until the third trimester I think.

The nhs website says it shouldn't be taken at all after 30 weeks, up to 30 weeks it's not recommended unless the benefits out weigh the risks, baby center says 1 dose is unlikely to do you harm so it sounds like you should be fine x

^paracetamol doesn't cross the placenta, ibuprofen does.
But yes, too early to be a problem. You're fine
