Debating whether to tell work

I had my bpoking appointment yesterday and my midwife told me because of the nature of my job to tell work straight away (I'm a care and support worker). However i have my probation meeting coming up in a couple of weeks and i don't want it to affect that. What should i do?

Personally I'd wait until after passing your probation unless it's unavoidable.

I would tell them now. I work in health and I had an immediate risk assessment completed. There's lots of manual work that needs to be avoided. Anything that causes strain.

I work in care too, currently on maternity leave now but I told them straight away. There are certain people you can not be near, such as people with shingles. I had no idea about any of it and only knew when my manager told me. Especially in early pregnancy. Glad I told them otherwise i would of been going to that person's home without realising. Best not to risk it
