Induction by balloon catheter

Hi - has anyone been induced by balloon catheter?

I'm only 16 weeks but I'm high risk owing to BMI and previous complicated emcs.

They've said that they will aim for VBAC which I'm really pleased with, but might not be able to get to full term owing to PIH (already medicated at 16 weeks).

They said if they needed to induce it would be using a balloon catheter - is anyone willing to share their experiences of it being used?

What's an induction balloon catheter?!

Well, you have this balloon thing pushed through your cervix, it's inflated with saline and the pressure is supposed to dilate your cervix and start Labour.

It's for women like me who can't have hormonal induction because of prior CS.

It apparently has a 50% success rate.

I just wondered if anyone has actually had it done.
