Early mc or implantation

I've tested positive in early pregnancy tests this week although period not due until tomorrow.

Today I am experiencing some bleeding and cramps. I'm assuming it's an early miscarriage but how do I confirm? Could it possibly be implantation or are the cramps def a bad sign? Is it a matter of waiting for a week or so and taking another pregnancy test or will it become obvious through the bleeding? Apologies if these are stupid questions

Not stupid questions at all. I'm sorry you are going through this uncertainty. The only way to really know, as it's so early, is by taking a test in a few days / a week as you suggested. You won't see anything pass as it's so small - I had a v early mc and actually only spotted for a few days. If it is an early mc, you could go to the doctor to get it on your record so that, if you are unlucky enough to have any more, they will do some tests after 3. Best of luck xx

Thank you so much for your quick response. Am vacillating between assuming it's mc and searching for reasons that it is not. Waiting it is then.

If you've been getting positives then implantation had already occurred. That doesn't mean the pregnancy is necessarily over yet, but yes unfortunately bleeding and cramps together is not a great sign, especially if it was periodlike bleeding. You can only wait a bit and keep testing - if you keep getting positives and they get darker you have an ongoing pregnancy, if not it seems it may be a chemical I'm afraid.

I'm not sure how to describe the bleeding. Not unlike periods I've had as a younger woman but not as heavy as they've been since dc1. Am quite nauseous too and v tired but I guess that could be pregnancy or mc. We dtd this morning and have been wondering if that somehow 'provoked' the bleed. I don't know.

Thanks for the reply though, that's essentially the point - implantation had to have happened for me to get the positive tests. I'm very grateful you've taken the time to talk to me.

The bleeding faded away from light to nothing before I went to bed last night. Today I feel a bit morning sicknessy and crampy and had a positive test (I know I know too bloody soon), I guess I'm more hopeful today? Fingers crossed still there.

They sound like good signs. Waiting is agony!
