Hiya, basically I had a blood test at my local clinic to see if I was pregnant or not, I done a STI test for everything so had to send blood over, everything was negative but they found out I was pregnant (would only be about 3 weeks) so I went to the clinic to get another one done and she said that it come back negative but my hCG levels had been high indicating I was pregnant.. she's told me this is probably a blighted ovum pregnancy and there's nothing they can do really due to me being very very early into the pregnancy.. shouldn't I be having a scan or something? Or should I wait and take another test in a week or so to see if it's negative?

Hi, so a scan won't show anything up at 3 weeks, it's generally at about 5-6 weeks when they may possibly offer a scan.

It's very early to be diagnosing a blighted ovum.
Blighted ovum means an empty sac, so there is a pregnancy sac but no baby will develop, it's a type of miscarriage. This is generally found at a scan after 6 weeks.

HCG levels may rise, usually not in a normal way, a pregnancy test may be positive even weeks after the miscarriage has all come away.

Basically, it's far too early to say anything either way, there is nothing that can be done, it's just waiting to see what happens over the next month.
