So Kate is pregnant again with royal baby number 3 but not many people are thrilled about this! One of the things being said is that they feel very sorry for princess charlotte because she will be the middle child and will be pushed out, now I'm a middle child and it wasn't that bad! And also every saying she only has morning sickness like every other mum when in fact she has hg! What is everyone's thoughts about royal baby number 3? I'm thrilled for them and for Prince George and princess charlotte! 👑

I'm suffering from HG so know how she feels, and I'm thrilled for her. Honestly, there's always going to be a lot of bitterness for loads of reasons from people but I honestly don't care. I like them, wish them all the best. I'm the eldest in my family so will never know what it's like being a middle child, but I can see them wanting another after this so it's not going to be that bad anyway. Hmm
What annoys me more are the comments from people moaning about prince George and his education with regards to who's paying for it etc.. a little research shows it's NOT being paid for by the state money (as in the sovereign grant the queen gets) but thats a totally different topic. It just annoys me that people don't take the time to try and learn. The whole thing with the royals.. people just like to complain

On one level I'm happy for them-as happy as one ever is for people one doesn't know. On another...well, I do think the Royals tread a fine line these days and having another Royal Prince or Princess is (like or not) going to be a drain on the tax payer in one way or another (although hopefully they will encourage their children to actually have careers so they don't rely on the state). So...yes. Happy but also thinking 'really Kate?! Really?!' while face palming 🤦‍♂️

I love the Royals so it's a hard call. But I can totally see why people are eye brow raising.

I think a baby being born is a happy thing and personally I'm happy for them. People will always find something to whinge about and be bitter about, or make it about them, so I choose to ignore that. I just think of all the unsolicited advice and opinions I've received since being pregnant and I'm not famous at all, and don't know that many people. Imagine being Kate and having all these opinions about your family decisions being thrown around all the time by people who don't even know you. Must get tedious.

Also the HG thing, I think she's a braver woman than I am. If I had had HG in my pregnancy (this is my first) you can be damn well sure I'd be stopping at one.

It's a women having a baby. Don't see the big deal.

I feel sorry for the child as an adult. As a kid he/she will be adorable, but as a child of the future monarch will automatically be dubbed HRH which effectively means they can't work (even if they want to) as they're not private citizens. That is why Anne, very sensibly, chose not to give her children the HRH status (even though they were entitled to it as the Queen's grandchildren) - she recognised that they would only ever be minor royals, and that as adults would be much better off being able to have careers. Andrew didn't make the same choice for his daughters, which traps them in a state of not really being able to work due to their status, and yet being criticised for this by the public.

Diana had it right by stopping at 2. Personally I think Kate should have done the same. She might want a big family, but that's the sacrifice she should make to keep the public's opinion of her high. This baby is doomed to a life of being seen as a drain on the public purse once it's an adult, just as Andrew is now. Harry gets away with it as there's only him and William in that generation.

toomuchhappyland · 10/09/2017 17:55

Public opinion of her and William, that should say - obviously this is his decision too!

RoseAndRose · 10/09/2017 17:58

That assumes it was a decision, not an oops....

redphonebox · 10/09/2017 20:19

People just like to moan about something don't they. I'm happy for them although can't say I've given it loads of thought!

SugarSW7 · 11/09/2017 04:11

I'm happy for them. They're a young family and yes they're Royal and have social responsibilities, but at the end of the day, I think there's so much they don't get choice over (I imagine even the names of their children have to be approved / picked from a list), that I think they should do as they please. Whatever they do people will criticise them. Imagine so many people having an opinion on how big or small your family should be! Can't be easy for them.

Read that William loved the buzz in Kates family with 3 siblings so wants that for his. Think every dm who has or had hg feels a bit better because even Kate with all her wealth and access to best doctors cannot make it go away. l had it and had 3 as you forget until you are in the middle of it again.
I thought with all the money they bring in tourism they are not a drain on the public purse.
Im in lreland and far too inrerested in this for a foreigner!
