Tesco pregnancy tests

Hi everyone.

I came off my pill around 6 months ago and haven't actively been trying (ie checking for ovulation dates etc) so as not to make it a stressful experience but have said we will see what happens. Anyway since I came off the pill my periods have been very regular straight away (29-31 day cycle) however this month I have been feeling like I am about to come on for around 2 weeks (bloating, cramps, short tempered etc). As of yet I haven't had any sign of my period and am now 4 days late. I have taken a first response test when I was 1 day late which was negative, then today I took a tesco cheapy test and thought I saw a faint line. It really was very faint so I did the other one in the pack and got the same thing. I have had a faint line before and not been pregnant so am not sure what to think (have a bit of a party at the weekend and don't want to be drinking if I am pregnant). I have attached photos and am hoping someone can offer some advice/ thoughts on how reliable this might be. Thank you!

Sorry but I cant see a line there, on either of them.

Lauraandbump2 · 08/09/2017 08:47

I used a Tesco brand one when I found out I was pregnant, I took both tests in the pack and both lines were as dark as the line in the other window. Could be possible you have tested too early? Maybe leave it a week and try again? Fingers X for you! Smile

demirose87 · 08/09/2017 08:48

They both look negative to me sorry.

gingerbreadmam · 08/09/2017 08:49

i can see what looks like two lines so i don't know if they're dodgey tests. Can you hold your wee and go and get more?if you have an asda close by they're tests are good.

I can see something faint in the second picture

This is my Tesco test at 12 dpo (4 days before AF was due). A FRER (first response early response) confirmed it for me later that day so I'd recommend trying that.

Good luck OP

Thanks everyone. The photo's aren't great to be honest but there are definitely faint lines in real life. I do however think they are probably dodgy tests. I'll just carry on as normal and test again if I don't get my period in another week or so.

I had a dodgy test with tescos, was gutting! Get a frer. Good luck!

I would use either the pink dye tests or digital test (no messing with lines then). FR are meant to be quite sensitive even before AF is due so I'd wait a couple of days before testing again.

DandySeaLioness · 08/09/2017 10:06

@Tls174 get yourself a red dye test, Asda or Frer are both good, sorry can't see a line in the ones uou posted (they should glow on negative pics)

OhWifey · 08/09/2017 10:10

I've had dodgy Tesco tests in the past. It was heartbreaking.

MaverickSnoopy · 08/09/2017 10:38

I had a dodgy test from Tesco the other week. Definitely not pregnant but test had a very faint line. Took a first response the next day and it was negative. Test again tomorrow with a pink dye test.

Sundaylunchhappy · 08/09/2017 10:48

Sorry op, could just be too early but I took two Tesco tests along with cb tests and all had strong dark lines that showed up before even the test line.

As others have said, perhaps wait a little longer, I know how frustrating it can be though x
