Pregnant but no idea of EDD!

I have a 2 year old daughter and hadn't had a period since getting pregnant with her and I've just found out I'm pregnant. We've been ttc for the past year so obviously I'm very happy to finally be pregnant. However because I haven't had a period, there is no way of knowing when I conceived. I definitely had a negative test in may and I know I've taken some since, probably in June and maybe July but can't be certain. I had my booking in app yesterday and the mw said they'll just go by 1st August for now until my 12 week scan. But I'm desperate to know how far along I am and don't think I can wait another 6 weeks. I did a digital test and it said 3+. My cheapie tests are so so strong it's crazy.

I asked for a dating scan but mw said they won't do one. We don't have the £89 to pay for a private dating scan. Is it normal for them not to do a dating scan?

The NHS prefer to date pregnancy between 11-14 weeks because any earlier and a measurement that is out by even a mm can make a huge difference in EDD and not be very accurate. Babies grow at an expected rate for the first trimester at least, so dating towards the end of it is going to be the most accurate. Hope that helps

When I was unsure of dates due to irregular periods (i was Between 5&10 weeks)I was sent for a scan at the epu as my midwife said the dating scan had to be done within a 2 week window for NT accuracy. If she had have said I was only 5 weeks I would have missed the cut off point as was actually 9 weeks gone at that point.
