Hi all

Sorry to ask, but I'm a writer currently writing a book with a pregnant woman in. She's about half way into her pregnancy and her Mum wants to buy a Christmas gift for her and her pregnancy/baby, something special that she can keep but not cliche really. Something that she really would want, not necessarily need. There isn't really a budget in mind for it.

Please can anyone suggest anything as mothers? What would you have loved to have received? I'm not a Mum yet so I don't want to get it wrong and irritate any readers!

I've looked on John Lewis, Not On The High Street and baby websites but feel a bit overwhelmed by the choice and don't want to get my research wrong!

Thanks so much :) xx

Hmm, I think what I would have loved would have been something personal, like a photo album full of pictures of me and my mum/family when I was a baby with stories/memories written in. That would have meant more than anything bought. Sadly wasn't an option as my mum passed away before I had my baby. That or some sort of 'heirloom' baby item eg a handmade quilt/blanket with history in the family.

Don't know if that fits in with your story/what your characters would do though!
