Hospital Bags?

Hello, I'm 30+5 and I'm curious to find out when you pack your hospital bag and what you put in it? I've put together a list for myself but I feel like there's loads! & I'd hate to underpack and need something.

Packed mine the night before my section at 35 weeks (I got 48 hours notice). Didn't take much with me, space on wards can be really limited and DH was able to bring more stuff in as needed.

Packed mine at 37 weeks

I'm in the process of packing mine and I'm 36 weeks. I just googled different lists on the internet and picked the logical bits from each list to create my own if that makes sense! Our hospital is only a 10 minute drive away and lots of people have told me if you forget anything you can always send your partner off to grab bits- as long as you're there and you've got the basics for you and baby that's all you really 'need'- that and your hospital notes (which pretty much every list I've read seems to leave off but by me you have to take your notes to every appointment and when you go into labour... assume it's like this elsewhere too?

I was packed by 35 weeks. I believe my midwife asked if i was ready at 34 weeks. I used lists from tesco and babycentre. Like others have said, just pick off what seems logical. I live half an hour away from the hospital without traffic which is also in a nightmare parking area so may have packed a little more than ideal but thats because i dont want DH to have to keep going back for things. I have also assumed i may be in for 24-48hours.

I've got the basics together and I'm 38+2, anything else is just stuff I use on a day to day basis and will just get put in bag when I'm ready. Was induced at 42 weeks with first so I think that's why be been so lazy with it this time.

I packed mine at 35+6 weeks (just after my waters broke).

I should have packed earlier. Blush

I'm a super organised person by nature, so much so my wonderful dh and my friends rip the piss out of me for it. I've been packed a good couple of weeks ( all bar my phone charger). I'm so glad I had as at 29 +5 I was admitted into hospital because I had started bleeding. I only had to say to my dh to pick up my bag and my phone charger (which he forgot) it was a weight off my mind knowing I had everything. I did the same as most, Googled hospital bag lists and picked what I felt I needed off them.

DD arrived at 35 weeks and luckily I had packed it as we'd been away and thought it sensible to pack my bag and take my notes just in case.
We're going away at 30 weeks this time and I'm going to pack my bag to take. I pray I don't need it.

Just unpacking mine!

Giant knickers, black
Labour outfit (mine didn't make it out of bag)
Nappies
Wipes
5x vests and sleepsuits for 1ish night stay
Whatever partner needs (undies, top?)
Any medication you're on
Pillow (hospital ones are shite)
Bag of snacks - many. Honestly, just get yourself to Tesco and pretend you've got the munchies
Lucozade type drinks with squeezy tops
Tens machine if using
Phone charger
Mat notes

EssentialHummus · 09/09/2017 20:00

And a drak coloured towel!
