Anyone given birth at Harrogate or James Cook hospitals? Especially if you were induced - experiences??

I am booked for an induction at James Cook in 10 days time. It may not come to pass but I've had no feedback on what it's like and what might happen if I have an induction there. I could also transfer my care to Harrogate which is equidistant to home. I have quite a few friends who've gone to Harrogate and all good reports but none who've been induced. Just wondering what the process is like at both and any feedback/experiences of giving birth at either of them....

Also my plan A is to go to a local midwife led unit which is fantastic (but cannot perform inductions or high risk) and is in the same trust as James Cook. Am worried I'll lose my chance to go there if I transfer my care to Harrogate...

It was fine for induction though a few years ago now. If you would prefer your plan A though I would probably stick with James Cook. Although you will have your handheld notes with you things like computerised blood results won't necessarily transfer easily between trusts (you will have had some blood work for your booking in) and although these can be redone it can hold things up occasionally. Best of luck Flowers

I had a horrible three day induction in harrogate.
Ignored, laughed at, washed against my will, internally examined against my will.
Ended up with ptsd.

Thanks for the info Slightly. Really helpful. Am considering declining an induction altogether or for a bit longer than advised if I can.

Oh @wowbutter that's awful - so sorry to hear what you went through. Was it recent??
