Hey all,

So I am in my 9th week. Last night I when I went to the loo I noticed that I had a pale brown discharge and when I wiped it was brownish.

I'd been feeling pretty rotten all day and then with that I was quite upset. This morning the rotten feeling went away as did the brown stuff.

I spoke to my midwife and she told me not to worry. But I've thrown up 3 times now. It's the most I've been sick throughout all of this so far and I've been suffering practically all day.

I just had 4 days of doing well when it came to eating. But today I don't seem to keep anything down and while my midwife told me not to worry. I am :(

Any suggestions/reassurance welcomed this way. I'm home alone all day and I just want a cuddle from my other half. But he's got so much n at work I don't feel like I can really ask him to come home early.

I had brown spotting at 6+3 and 8+4 and am now 20 weeks, all fine (so far!). Brown spotting is very common - I'd say if it's gone away now, you're probably fine, but if you're still worried ask your midwife to refer you to the EPU for a scan.

I don't think the sickness is a sign of anything bad (in fact, probably the opposite) but three times a day is tough - I had that on my very worst days and it was hard to deal with. Definitely worth speaking to your midwife/GP about medication if it continues.

I had spotting last week at 11 weeks. It was pinky brown discharge that was only there if I wiped. It stopped within the hour and not had it again since. I called EPU and they said to not worry as was very common to have a bit of cervical errosion (sensitive spot) or burst a tiny blood vessel during sex or having a BM.
Have you had any scans yet to check that baby is in the right place? I had had a private scan already so they didn't need to scan me to check. And also I had no cramping/ sharp pains.
Had 12 week scan today and everything was perfect so just monitor it but always worth calling EPU incase they can get you in for a scan Smile x

I think people can often spot around when their period would usually be due? If you're worried can you get a referral to the early pregnancy unit near you?

I went for an early scan yesterday at 6+4. All was well but she pointed out a shadowy area below the embryo and said that it was bruising left over from implantation. She said that it was nothing to worry about but that it would likely cause some brown spotting/bleeding and some point because it will find its way out.

It's only natural to worry but I'm sure there are many innocent reasons for this type of spotting Smile

Thanks guys! I had a scan back on my 7th week because I'd had an ectopic previously, baby was in the right place and all looked well then. So obviously my mind is going into overdrive as I'm so scared of anything going wrong.

I've had no more spotting and so I've calmed down. My MS has gotten REALLY bad though. I'm hoping this is my hump before it all calms down.
