Hello, new to this. Been having a light brown discharge for a week now - no cramps or bleeding. Did PG test again yesterday and still pg. Have sore boobs and nausea. been to Drs but all he has done is book me in for a blood test tomorrow ti check HCG hormone levels. In the meantime I am worried. Anyone else had this? Any ideas?

Thanks

Can only reassure you that loads of people get this, including me at 9 weeks. After a few days it stopped and never returned. I was scanned and doc said all looked fine and no idea why bleeding but not to worry about it as it's very common. Hopefully the doc will be able to reassure you tomorrow.

I had this with both pregnancies ( currently 10wks with second) Both times I had early scans, which confirmed baby's heartbeat & no obvious reason for bleeding.

Do you have an early pregnancy unit at your local hospital? It might be worth giving them a ring, some let you self refer. (First time for me Dr arranged it, second time I spoke to my midwife, but rang them direct & they were happy to take my word for it that the m/w had "referred" me)

tinasparkle, I ahve just found out I'm 11 weeks pg and I had a light period last month.
I wouldnt worry, especially if you have no pain or bleeding.
Its quite common.

Thanks all those who have replied so far. I fell pregnant as soon as I came off the pill and I guess by body is confused. I was. I am seeing the midwife on the 10th to 'book in' and will mention it then. If I do get actual red blood and cramping I shall be down the Dr's like a shot. It's funny, the locum, who was a lady, was far more understanding than my regular GP who specialised in OB GYN!

Any more help/reassurance will be appreciated!

Hi I hate to do this: I had a missed miscarriage last year discovered at 12 week scan. The only indication was some light brown discharge once no pain or bleeding. Am pg again and had lots of brown discharge and even red bleeding so far and everything is still fine (can still change any minute...). I wished I would have been prepared better last year it was a complete shock, thus my post.
Good luck to you!

I had brown discharge at 9 weeks and 13 weeks. Each time I had a scan and there was no obvious cause for it. It stopped of its own accord. My lovely healthy DD is now 5 months old and I had no other problems in pregnancy. Only thing that has happened since is that I bled post natally for about 11 weeks, even though I was breast feeding. No cause was found for this either. I must just have a strange body!
