Another SMP question - notice periods

Me & DH are just in the process of buying a house and then will be soon to start TTC.

Just want to get my head around SMP (as this is all my company offers) and eligibility, in case I move jobs.

So, I know you have to let you employer know no later than 15 weeks before your due date, that you're pregnant and the dates you plan to leave and return.

But am I right in thinking that to qualify for SMP, I could be 1 week into a pregnancy on the day I start with a company? The Gov website states;

Employee must have worked for you continuously for at least 26 weeks up to any day in the qualifying week
(the qualifying week being the 15th week before your due date)

So that would mean you were 27 weeks pregnant. Then 26 weeks before this, you would have been one week pregnant?

Obviously I'm ignoring probation periods at work in this little scenario. Wouldn't start actively TTC until I was passed that point I don't think!

So by the time your 25 weeks pregnant ( 40-15) you should've worked for employer for six months.
