Sac measuring small at 9weeks

I had a private 9w+4 scan last night due to some bleeding. All seemed ok and we heard the heartbeat which was amazing. The nurse said she couldn't see any cause for the bleeding so wasn't worried about anything apart from the sac measuring slightly small...

She said it was measuring 8w5 rather than 9w4. She said she wasn't worried but I'm wondering whether anyone else has had this problem? And if so did it sort itself out? Thanks in advance!

I think it's fairly common. I had two early scans due to a bleed. The first put me back a week, the second time the date changed again moving me closer to the day I thought it was and my 12 week scan brought my date forward again. Don't worry. Wait till your 12 week scan. I'm sure it will be fine x

Thank you 1st. I'm trying not to worry as the lady was too concerned and it was still within the normal but just thought I'd ask! Smile xx

I've had two early scans. One was dated a week behind where I thought and then the next scan was only 2 days behind.
I was told that this is completely normal and that it's very easy to date incorrectly when the baby is so tiny. This is why the NHS do their dating scan at 12 weeks - as it's much more reliable once the baby is bigger.
I know it's a worry but it's honestly very common x
