Is it normal for test line to be like this?

This is my BFP from between 1 and 4 days after missed AF (cycles vary a bit in length and wasn't charting ovulation this month)

Is it ok for it to be so dark? Is it a good or a bad thing? Do you think the test strip could be in the wrong way round? I took the second in the pack the day after this one and it was just the same.

Congratulations.

You must be pretty far along to have such a dark line.....certainly further along than a few days past your AF.

The test line being darker than the control line is completely possible, but you'd need pretty high levels of hCG to achieve that.

When was your last period?

CaptainsCat · 05/09/2017 00:16

Last period was 3rd August and my cycles are usually 29 days give or take a couple on either side, so I can't be that pregnant surely?

That makes you 4 weeks and 5 days along. If you assumed that you ovulated on day 15, considering you have a 29 day cycle then you could be 19dpo today.

That's a very healthy line for 19dpo. Congratulations, you obviously have a good amount of hCG in your system.

Have you tried a Clearblu digital with weeks indicator?

CaptainsCat · 05/09/2017 00:50

That's very reassuring, thank you.

I thought maybe they had put the stick in the test the wrong way! There's always something to worry about with early pregnancy isn't there.

I've not done a clear blue yet, on holiday and they are £££ but will do one when I get home next week!

I did a FRER 6 days after my missed period and my test was like that! Now 9w+4 and heard his/her little heartbeat yesterday ☺️☺️

RefuseTheLies · 05/09/2017 06:25

Maybe it's twins Grin

MammaBear18 · 05/09/2017 08:25

Congrats! I had a very similar looking line at 21dpo 😘

TiramisuQueenoftheFaeries · 05/09/2017 15:15

FRER are sensitive enough that it's pretty common for the test line to have become darker than the control once you're several days past your missed period.

I'm pretty sure it means... You're pregnant. Congrats Grin

Mine looked like that the day after my missed period. I was expecting a squinter if I got anything at all but it was really dark. Someone suggested twins but I'm definitely only have one. And I was only just over 4 weeks pregnant so I think it's just a hormonal thing. Makes it worth waiting until after your period is due though!

Mine was that dark at 5 weeks and you're not that far off.
