There's lots of older feedback on the Kensington Wing at Chelsea & Westminster. Would love to hear about any more recent experiences.

Thanks :)

I have had three there, 2011, 2013 and Dec 2015 and will be having number four there (touch wood all is well!) in Feb. I was consultant led (by choice, not high risk). What would you like to know? Smile

Hi Goingagain - great to hear that you are going back 4 times...it must be good haha. I'm booking early so thankfully I have a choice between my 2 shortlisted Consultants (KD & NW)... what were the deciding factors for you when choosing your consultant?

I've received the cost estimate from the consultant, as well as the hospital price list. Do you mind me asking how much all of the extras added up to?

Thanks :)

Hi. I have been with KD for all pregnancies though #1 was two weeks early, so was delivered by someone else. I didn't really have any extras tbh apart from food. I didn't have any epidural or other drugs so the extras I think were mainly food and some other bits?

I will send a PM.

Thanks both :)

I'm in the same boat. Moved to London 4 months ago. This will be my first pregnancy and not sure how to go about looking for an OB. Do OBs have open nights for meet and greets or do you just book and hope it works out?

KittyKK - did you interview OBs? I'm also looking at going private with KD or NW. Let me know who you decide on and how they are.

KittyKK · 07/09/2017 08:36

Hi LAtoLDN - All of my research has been online as I'm overseas at the moment. I made my own shortlist and then emailed the OBs' assistants (addresses on Kensington Wing website) to ask if they had availability and next steps if I want to register with the consultant.

If you haven't registered yet, do so soon. I think you can make some initial appointments to meet the Consultants before making a decision.

I've got my first consultation booked in for when I'm back in London. Deposit is due once I've met the consultant and confirmed I'm happy with the chemistry etc.

Congrats on your pregnancy! Welcome to message me if you want to chat more :)

Ask these doctors how many women who booked with them were delivered by their colleagues instead of them personally.
I wish I had!

Hello! Does anyone have experience with Dr Berrin Tezcan at the Kensington Wing or Portland? She seems lovely but just looking for some extra feedback thanks!

KittyKK · 10/01/2018 20:04

No, I haven’t heard anything about that consultant. I think go with your gut feeling. Chemistry is important. I chose a consultant based on medical reputation, but there isn’t much chemistry and I’m not sure I would choose the same next time.

Have you done the hospital visits yet? I’m now booked into the Kensington Wing. It seemed the most convenient location. I looked at other private maternity facilities and none of them were particularly nice in London. The KW maternity ward seems clean, but stark (it reminds me of Travel Lodge and I would much prefer to spend £1.1k a night in a lovely hotel lol). Interested to know your feedback if you deliver at The Portland
