If you first 2 labours were 'back to back', how was your 3rd?

Hello!

I had horribly long and painful labours with my first 2 babies. Contracting for hours (12h+), contractions lasting 1 minute and coming every minute, only to be told I was nearly 1cmConfused
I always progressed ridiculously slowly and was in agony from the start and always put it down to the fact my babies were back to back.

So Im wondering, if your first 2 were back to back:
1- did your labour seem longer and more painful than average?
2- how did your 3rd labour go?

Thank youSmile

By the way the 12hr+ are to reach 1cm- not my entire labour !

I haven't had my second yet, but following with interest as last baby was back to back and labour was hell!

Hello!

Well I can help you with that.
My first labour was about 40 hours of active labour and the second one was a tad shorter, approximately 30hrs. So there was improvement! - ish

I have just started following this MW called the HYPNOBIRTHING MIDWIFE and she advocates exercises that can help change the baby's position. Maybe worth looking it up?
Best of luck!

Hello!

10 hours less is a definite improvement! I was induced on a Saturday morning, on and off contractions until Monday night, got my waters broken and drip, and then he eventually arrived on Tuesday night by EMCS.
It was hell!
There's hope for slightly quicker this time then!

Oh poor you how awful...
So heartbreaking to go through all the labour and end up having a section.
Really hope it goes smoothly for you this time round. Maybe try the exercises the me recommended on that video?
Best of luck !

My first and third were back to back labours (not helping you - sorry!)

My third was a lot faster: 5 hours compared to 28 hours! But the pain was horrendous! I don't know how I'm pregnant again because it terrified me! However I'm a BIG wimp and it didn't help that I turned down pethidine and an epidural at the start Confused

I'm 33 weeks now and this bubba is back to back! Hoping she turns, and spending lots of time leaning forward etc. If not I will be asking for all the drugs asap Grin

Obviously everyone is different though and I've heard of women experiencing back to back labours with hardly any pain

Oh but see thats really interesting that back to back doesnt always mean longer then? Im pleased to hear that.

Ohh best of luck for this one, hope the bending forward works for you!

Ive heard it's supposed to be more painful but I've had 3 back to back labours so have nothing to compare it to, but just for a bit of reassurance, my first labour was 8 hours, second was 3 hours and my third was 45 minutes!
