Hi all,
I am a bit confused about where I will stand with maternity pay.
I am currently on a 1 year Fixed Term Contract, which is due to end on 29th Dec 2017 (contract commenced on 29th Dec 2016). I am covering maternity leave and it has been confirmed that she will be returning on this date, and so my contract will not be extended :(
I am awaiting an early scan at the moment, as I fell pregnant after taking my implant out and never had a period so we are unsure of the dates. (ClearBlue digital test says 5 weeks +, and I had my implant out on 30th June)
It seems unlikely that I will still be working for the employer in my 15th week before the baby is due.
Does this mean I will not get any maternity pay at all, or is it possible to claim something through the government? If so, does anyone know what you receive and how long for?
I have tried to google this, but don't seem to have any luck finding an answer.
