Can I ask to be induced?

Desperately clutching at straws here...

I'm 41 weeks today, no sign of baby whatsoever. Induction will happen this Monday 4th September if she doesn't make an appearance.

Problem- we don't have any childcare for our DD1. We were relying on my partners sister who decided to book a last min holiday! Don't get me started.....

Anyway. Can I request to be induced at the weekend? It would be a little more manageable at the weekend.

Xx

Before the weekend maybe? I was due to be induced a few days before 42 weeks because they didn't schedule weekend inductions.

I was hospitalised for a week before dd2 was born, they were due to release me and then an induction was booked for a week after that. I requested if it was possible to move it up as I was struggling to organise more childcare. They agreed. I think as long as they have the staff and it's safe to do so they will try to help

They book for when they have the staff. You can ask but they can also say no.

The induction process can take a few days, so just because you for example go in on saturday doesnt mean the baby will definitely come at the weekend, it might be the start of the following week.
You can ask but it's likely if there isn't a medical reason they may be unwilling to bring it forward.
I think either way there is a possibility you will need childcare for your DD1 next week.
Hope you manage to get something sorted.
