gender scan at 17 weeks...girl or boy...i think im in denial!?!?!?

Hello all, I had a strong feeling this baby was a girl, completely different pregnancy from my sons. Had this scan today, pretty sure it shows scrotal sack, but also appears to show the 'three lines' ... I know I'm kidding myself to think there's still a possibility its a girl. I just can't help but mourn over being told 'boy'...don't get me wrong, I'm happy the baby is healthy after 4 miscarriages...but I can't help but think about the liss of the mother/daughter relationship I had imagined. What does everybody think about my pic? Tia x

Don't feel bad about mourning the other sex, plenty people do. But please remember that boys and men often have beautiful relationships with their mothers and a little while spent reading AIBU shows you that not all mother/daughter relationships are blissful. I'm sorry I can't read ultrasounds at all but congratulations on your boy, you won't want to swap him when he's here

I probably shouldn't say it but when I looked at the pic I thought it was a girl and then what appears to be a sack is in fact ambilical cord...but if the ultrasound person told you it was a boy I'd go with that!

Thankyou everyone...im gonna go with the assumption that the tech was correct, but I guess you never really know 100% until they come out!

OP, can you pay for a private scan? You need to be sure so you can start getting your head around the likelihood of not having a DD.

Well I just thought it looks like a girl and the bit at the front which everyone says is a sack seems quite elongated iyswim and I thought it looks more like an ambilical cord...

In a bit confused. Did they confirm it was a boy at scan? If so, then it is almost certainly a boy. You can ask at anomaly scan if they will confirm this as obviously there's always a small possibility of error.

It was a private scan, confirmed boy. I think the picture is a view of his 'backside potty shot' I assumed it was his wee sack? I'm pretty sure they're correct about boy confirmation...was just so convinced it was a girl, had terrible morning sickness which I didn't have with my son, and everyone I know said they thought I was having a girl. I kinda built my hopes up. I am greatful its healthy which is the main thing, I know. Thankyou all for your comments. Anomaly scan on 13th September, expecting a confirmation of 'boy' again. Will update post after scan...although I think we all know the answer
