Jennifer1 I have been considering a getting a private midwife to help me all the way through labour as local docs and hospital cannot guarantee that I'll have the same one and not sure I want to rely on hubby if labour is long... Any advice out there please....

I know a doula posts on here sometimes but I can't remember her name. I think research has shown that they are supposed to lead to a better birthing experience. If you can afford to do it why not?

Jennifer1 Anyone any ideas how much a private midwife would cost just for labour only? Went onto RCM site but couldn't see anywhere that had this kind of info?
