Baby's head really big 27+2?

Hi everyone , I had a growth scan today (due to measuring small at my midwife appointment) and the baby's head was way above average (off the chart) it was 273mm. Everything else was normal size, the sonographer said the head was big but would probably even out and didn't seem bothered. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm worried something is wrong! Thank you.

Do you or your partner have large heads? These things can be hereditary.

Hmm I don't think so particularly! Just wish I'd been given some more information!

They didn't say anything about potential issues with a large head? I can understand you're concerned! Maybe call your midwife to discuss it tomorrow? I wouldn't recommend Dr Google though.

No , she only said he had a big head and that it will probably even out! Yeah I think I will do that, thank you for your advice.

Both my DCs had v big heads (both CS, and they told me at 5 month gestation that the 2nd would need to be CS due to head size). Their dad and I both have family large heads (but well within normals limits!) but didn't especially at birth, so far as I know.
Both were completely fine.

I'd ask to discuss for reassurance, but I suspect they had a good look at inside the baby's head once they realised it was big, and would have seen if anything was wrong/unusual.

'family' = 'fairly'

Thank you for the reassurance! I keep trying to tell myself if they were concerned they would have looked into it.
