What do we need for the pram?

Just realised that we have a pram but nothing to go in it. Do we need sheets, some kind of liner, special blankets??

It's a Jane Matrix and has straps for when it's being used as a car seat and an extra mattress for sleeping on - when it's being used as a pram would you still use the straps or put the comfy mattress in instead?

I don't know how I am so clueless about this.

Usually just normal blanket or two depending on the weather, and usually the straps aren't used when in the flat position for small babies.

Great, thanks - we have a couple of blankets. What about a sheet or some kind of mattress protector for accidents?

I've never had a poo or pee leak into the buggy in 2.5 years of parenting, don't know anyone that's had a mattress protector or similar for it either. They're usually all washable parts anyway.

I didn't need it with DS, but with my very sicky DD I did tuck a muslin tightly over the mattress to try and minimise the mess!

Giant muslins are your friend. Can be used as a sheet, a blanket, a shade, a swaddle.

How about a morrck wrap for the matrix? That works with the harness straps and safely keeps baby warm - they shouldn't wear big, puffy or bulky clothing when you're using the car seat (as your car seat is both car seat and carrycot, it may be useful). We have a lie flat carrycot which is also a car seat (Britax babysafe sleeper) and have the morrck wrap for that as we're due a November baby (and adding/taking off snow suits in and out of car just ain't going to happen!)

I've got Moses basket sheets to put on my pram mattress. They are pretty cheap in Asda. Hope that helps

So helpful, thank you all!

I used moses basket sheets too.

Moses basket sheet for the pram mattress and a muslin over the top for a sicky baby.
