Headaches in second trimester

Hi,

I'm 15 weeks and the past week or so, I've had daily headaches which have been so annoying!

I've spoken to my midwife, my blood pressure is fine, I'm hydrated etc etc but painkillers aren't getting rid of it.

Does anyone have any tips on natural ways to get rid of a headache?

I had hideous headaches when pregnant, went on for days and it was miserable. I found the following helped a bit:

Paracetamol
Caffeine
4head sticks
Those cooling gel head pads
Warm compress round back of neck
Lots of water
Lying down to rest where possible

They did pass (mostly) by 20/21 weeks so fingers crossed they do for you too!

From 15 weeks until 18 weeks I had rediculous headaches. From what I can gather on here, it's fairly common in early second trimester to get them. Keep an eye on them and mention them to your midwife just in case you have other risk factors for pre-eclampsia. Hopefully it is just normal. Mine have passed now at 21 weeks. Flowers for you. I agree with 4head sticks and cold gel pads for head

I've just gone back and read you've spoken to your midwife. In which case ignore me. Time for bed I think.

Not sure if it is of any use but you can actually take codeine when pregnant (not a good idea in third trimester unless Ok'd by midwife or doctor as it can affect babies breathing when born) but as you are in 2nd trimester should be fine :)
So maybe you could try some co-codamol?
Not sure what painkillers you have previously tried.

I had them in first trimester. I can't remember what they're called, but those patches that you stick on your head worked so well that I decided to keep on using if I ever had a headache when I wasn't pregnant.

I once slept with one on and when my headaches were really bad, I used to drive to work with one on, obv take it off once I got there and just use a 4head stick during my shift and then put the patch back on for the journey home.
