I'm 34 weeks and my midwife wrote this in my notes today, should I be concerned? Surely if I'm asymptomatic of pre-eclampsia then there would be no need to record it?

It's quite common to write that in maternity notes.
Checking for Pre-eclampsia symptoms is part of a standard antenatal check (ie checking BP, dipping urine) particularly in the second half of pregnancy.
No need to be concerned as the midwife is saying you have no signs of it.

So when you do tests you have to record them, even when they're negative. Sometimes you'll see 'urine test normal' or NAD (no abnormality detected) or something similar. It is confusing that she'd write asymptomatic, because usually you'd use that when something is present but there are no symptoms and it doesn't sound as if that's what she meant.

She needs to record that she's considered it and ruled it out at this stage. Nothing to worry about
