Pregnant, hormonal and partner working away

Hi

I am 7 weeks pregnant with my first child. Im 34 years of age.

My partner and I have only been together for 9 months but we both know we have my the one. I'd never even considered having children with my ex husband but my partner and I both feel we want to add to our family.

My partner and I have spent every day together since we got together and he worked as an electrician.

He has since got a job working on the oil rigs off shore for 4 weeks at a time.

I found out we were expecting 3 days after he left to work off shore for the first time and we haven't seen each other since then.

As you can imagine, the hormones of early pregnancy + missing my partner so much + contemplating how our life will be with him away for a month at a time = quite emotional and lonely right now.

Anyone else have a partner that works away?

Hi, my husband works away too. At the moment he's on a job in Scotland and goes for 19 nights and is then home for 2 nights. Do you have a good support network of friends and family near by? Is he going to be able to attend scans etc?
I'm 35 weeks pregnant and dp is due home today. His work have been quite good and he only has one more away stint before due date. So fingers crossed baby doesn't make an early appearance. It's is hard but you do get used to it. On the positive when you have back ache or are getting up 3/4 times a night it's nice not sharing a bed with someone Confused
How are you feeling at the minute?x

Aww i bet that's so hard for you both. I don't have experience but I can imagine it's not nice especially at this stage when you hormones are all over the place, I was and still am very clingy after being with my boyfriend for only 4 months before falling pregnant and I'm 33 weeks now. Hope it gets better for you Flowers
