Blighted ovum

I had an early pregnancy scan at 6 weeks one day, the pregnancy sac appeared to be empty. All my symptoms appeared to have disappeared since last week apart from feeling tired.

I've been told to go back in 2 weeks time, has anyone experienced this?

Hi, I have had similar news this week. Thought I was 6 weeks, but had an internal scan and they could only see an empty sac. They took bloods and I've got to go back tomorrow for more blood tests to see if my Hcg levels are rising. Then I think it's a wait for two weeks for another scan to see if anything is happening. I really understand what you are going through, I am in exactly the same position so if nothing else, you can at least know that you are not alone x

I've had a blighted ovum too but at 12 weeks. Found out As I had started to bleed so went for a scan.

I had a scan at about 5 and a half weeks which showed an empty sac. I had to go back 10 days later. It is a long and painful wait and at your dates it is entirely possible that it is just too early too see anything, which thankfully was the case for me. Although difficult, I would try to keep away from Google. You will find both positive and negative stories online but only the scan will tell you for sure. Can you be seen a bit sooner than 2 weeks for your next scan?

I went at what I thought was 6 weeks and had an empty sac. So sure I had blighted ovun. Bloods taken over a few days showed hcg rising and now over 15 weeks later I got to see my little girl growing beautifully.
I'm not trying to give you false hope but things don't always turn out as you may think. Good luck with it all and if it does turn out to be the worst kind of news then I'm sending all my love your way, it's not an easy thing to go through and I hope you have a great support network in place. As hard as it is, try not to stress too much over what you don't know
