IV drip for dehydration

Hi,

I'm new here so forgive me if I'm posting this to the wrong place!

I was suffering from sickness all night and day so my midwife referred me to the hospital birthing unit yesterday afternoon to be treated for dehydration by IV drip, I stayed in overnight and was discharged earlier this afternoon clear of symptoms for almost 24 hours. I'm now getting quite a bit of diarrhoea 😔 Could this be due to the fluids or should I be contacting the midwife again? I don't want to be losing the fluids all over again!

Thank you!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I forgot to mention I'm 38 +5 so hoping all this won't be going on for much longer and hoping this baby will be arriving very soon!

Did they give you pabrinex? It's a small yellow bag of vitamin mix and can often give diarrhoea the next day. It clears up very quickly though. Hope you are feeling a bit better now, I've been there many times and it's miserable.

Ah thank you! I don't think they did, it was just sodium chloride solution - 4 bags of it. I'm feeling a lot better than I was thankfully 😅
