I'm 8 weeks and for the past 3 of those I have had the worst nausea ever. I've not been sick which in a way makes it worse cos I feel like it would make me feel better. I won't let myself take any time off work cos I refuse to be beaten but i am starting to struggle now. It comes in waves usually and lasts all day. I feel absolutely pathetic. Anyone have any advice or in same boat?

Hi Cleo, same here! Now 10+5 & have had awful nausea from 6 weeks. Hoping the end is in sight! Randomly I had a couple of days feeling ok but then it returned. I find sips of cold water help & eating little & often whatever you fancy. Have you been eating ok? It is tough especially with work. I hope you feel better soon x

HazyDays81 my eating habits have definately changed. I've gone off stuff I normally have even coffee which I couldn't live without pre pregnancy. But I am eating. I force myself to cos I know I need to for me and little bean but it's not easy. I just hope it settles soon cos I am losing the Will!!

It is really horrible to deal with. This is my third pregnancy & I was nowhere near this bad with my other two! My healthy eating plan has gone out the window as I have gone off so much food. I keep craving cake & chocolate which is pretty odd seeing as I feel sick most of the time. The only comfort I take from it is hopefully it means my body is doing what it should. Let's hope for both of us it soon goes & we enter the glowing stage Smile

Try Avomine tablets. You can buy over the counter but check with your doctor first. I took them because I was vomiting all the time and couldn't cope.

You poor buggers! I remember this so well, weeks 5-12 were a haze of nausea and bloatedness.

I felt SO much better at 12 weeks (which coincides with the placenta taking over, ATM the babies are taking nutrition directly from your blood stream). All I could comfortably eat before 12 weeks was M&S ham sandwiches, Cheerios and Haribo Fangtastics and I spent an ungodly amount of time sitting on the bathroom floor swallowing hard. I was never sick either, I just felt sick ALL the time.

My only tip is to have something to eat before you get out of bed, a biscuit or two, DH was a God and made me marmalade on toast (the nearest I got to a vegetable in that period). That really helped.

kingfishergreen that is good to hear yours cleared by 12 weeks! Haha that is a random combination of food you were able to eat! I will certainly be glad when this stage is over.

I seem to be fine in the day but come 6pm I am running to the loo but then not sick. Atm I cannibble through it (anything salty here). It doesnt stop through the night but come morning I am fine again. This has been all week.

Hoping doesn't get worse but I am only 6 weeks so maybe thats very hopeful thinking.

Loosemoose28 · 23/08/2017 09:39
  • can nibble.

Eurgh, I am in the midst of this too, 10+0 now. Sorry to say last time it peaked at 15/16w and wasn't really gone till 20/21.

AntiHop · 23/08/2017 09:48

Your gp can prescribe anti nausea tablets. Really helped me. Also keep some food by your bed and eat something before you get out of bed. Make sure you stay hydrated.

Thanks for all your support and advice guys. I have my booking apt tomorrow so I'm gonna speak to midwife about it. It's actually eased a little today but ice had odd days of respite and then just when I think I maybe turning a corner...BAM! Nausea central!

Hey. I'm now 20 weeks. From week 6 to 9 I felt really sick all the time and I hated being pregnant. After week 9 I discovered that if I ate something small every two hours this stopped me feeling sick. Well I still felt a bit crappy and couldn't stomach the thought of a whole meal but I was able to get through the day not feeling like I was going to throw up every 5 mins. After week 13 the sickness completely went. So try fruit, biscuits, milk shake, ice lolly, nuts every few hours and see if it helps. You'll feel better soon :)

Cleo2607 · 23/08/2017 19:25

Ice lollies have actually been a godsend in the evenings but can't have them at work...no freezer! Yeah I find I feel so sick I don't snack like I used to then come meal times im starving so eat and then feel mega sick again and it goes round in a vicious circle. Hoping it goes at 12 weeks!
