Did you get sterilised during C Section?

I would love to hear from anyone who has been sterilised during a C section? I have been sterilised previously and went through a reversal to have my third child two years ago. I have now found to my shock I am 5 months pregnant and I had no idea. I still had periods etc.

Anyway, I cannot allow this to happen again. I feel like my body has been through enough and after 3 vaginal births I'm feeling like I might opt for a C section if they can tie my remaining tube again (lost one through ectopic) but I have heard this can be incredibly painful.

Has anyone got any experience of this? Thanks in advance.

I don't think it's particularlarly painful just because it's done at the same time as CS. However there is a higher failure rate (because your tubes are swollen from the pregnancy, so ties/clips etc are more likely to work loose) - you might be advised to wait a few months.

No, I asked when I had my 4th and 5th babies (both conceived while I was on the pill) but they wouldn't do it. Although to be honest the c sections were so awful I'm glad they didn't make the operation longer by tying my tubes as well.
