New sheets as well as new mattresses?

As per SIDS advice, I am buying new mattresses for the basket and crib I plan to use for my new baby. Do sheets also need to be new? The ones from my previous baby are perfect but obviously have been used. Just not sure if they are ok to use? Any advice? Thanks.

Well I'm not sure on the official advice but I'm re-using mine. They will be re-washed, obviously.

Sheets can be washed just like clothes. It's just the mattress that needs to be new.

I'd say sheets are more like clothes, as they can be washed in the machine like you would wash clothes. Same as blankets really.

Sheets should be fine as they can be washed.

I have a second hand Moses basket and second hand sheets (from my SIL's daughter) but a new mattress.
