Pregnancy horrors?

Hello mums!
I was chatting with a girlfriend earlier about the worst pregnancy side effects we had experienced. What were some of yours? Mines heartburn everytime!!

Constipation!! 🙈

Horrendous sickness and vomiting from being a few weeks pregnant right up to about 30 weeks. It cleared and I had 2 glorious weeks - then the heartburn from hell started. Was very glad to give birth

Not just constipation, but bum hole mucus as a side effect of that. Grim.

Heartburn (constantly from 16 weeks with my second) was horrendous.

Vomiting twenty times a day for nine months, and having spd so badly i was in considerable pain.

Neither issue resolved fully after birth.

Sickness! From 5 to 16 weeks was dreadfully Ill. 37 weeks now and can't sleep it's driving me insane!

Bloomin haemorrhoids that never ever leave.

Heartburn, haemorrhoids, spd, gestational diabetes and particularly severe obsteric cholestasis
I'm not having any more - the spd never cleared up.

Piles and aforementioned bum-hole mucus! I'm currently 26+2 and in bloody agony with my bum.

Baby is also battering me inside my pelvis/fanjo and it's sooo not comfortable!

Sickness, sciatica and unwillingly making grunting noises like I'm 70 when I try to stand up. I'm 27 ffs!

PUPPP. A hideous, all over body rash that sometimes doesn't go away until you give birth. I was shown mercy and it only lasted 3 weeks but it was agony, I was covered head to toe in hydrocortisone and emollients and couldn't sleep due to intense itching. That and the never ending nausea and occasional vomiting. Joy!!

Acne all over my face down my back and across my chest. Cleared up once my DD was born.

@grasspigeons It doesn't always self resolve and often needs active treatment. The excercises physios give you won't fix it either. You need a combination of hands on manipulation and then excercises directed at the abdominal core to keep it in check.

You need to see either a physical specialist who specialises in pgp (there's a technique they use and I can't remember the bloody name) or an osteopath that specialises in women's health. The pelvic girdle partnership website has some names on their website.
After that you need to strengthen your core (the restore your core programme is good) and you may need occasional tune ups.

My osteopath saw me twice and I'd say that alone sorted three quarters of it - it shouldnt need months of treatments but it's NOT a purely hormonally triggered issue. It's almost always an existing instability that's aggravated by the looseness of logaments during pregnancy. Without active treatment it may not resolve.

As with so many issues during pregnancy (HG being another) there is far too much 'put up and shut up' and far too little willingness to treat.

I second PUPPP - I've had it about a week and spend all day and night itching, in tears. I'm walking round smothered in Calamine Lotion and there is NOTHING doctors can do for it.

Horrendous sickness until week 18 then starting again at week 30, now accompanied more often than not with wetting myself as I violently vomit (including once in the hairdressers). Severe anaemia so I'm breathless and knackered constantly, but the tablets make me vomit even more. 34 weeks now and counting down the days already!

Vomiting multiple times a day from a few days after conception until labour. It is the main reason we are only having one baby, I couldn't do it again, especially not with another child to look after.

I really hope it clears up for you soon, how far along are you? I bought pine tar soap and that didn't seem to work for me so I stuck to Dermol 500 and 1% hydrocortisone.
