Protein in urine

Hello. 36 weeks pregnant and whenever I go to my midwife or consultant they mention the increasing amount of protein in my urine. They then take my blood pressure which is higher than normal but not high so just say it will be fine. I've been having terrible headaches the past few days and googled pre eclampsia. My blood pressure still isn't 'high' and no symptoms like swelling. Could the protein be anything else? Definitely not an infection as been tested for this and antibiotics to rule out water or kidney infection.

I had high blood pressure in my 1st pregnancy which along with OC was why I got induced. I also had small amounts of protein in my wee but it was never enough for them to be concerned about pre-eclampsia. Perhaps you have the same. I would imagine that the level of protein in your urine is being monitored but they're not massively concerned at this point, especially since you're having little else in the way of symptoms. Headaches could be anything from stress to hormones but try and keep and eye on your body. It will tell you if there is anything wrong. Good luck for the next 4ish weeks! X

Have you told them about the headaches? If not please get in touch with them now.

If the headaches are new and midwife/Dr doesn't know about them please speak to someone today. It might be nothing but it's not worth taking any chances. Better to be safe and get checked.
