Feel like I'm going crazy but...

I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and had started feeling one baby move previously (pregnant with twins) but over the past few days I just don't feel pregnant? Haven't felt anything and my stomach doesn't feel as hard, just feels podgy. Whereas it was hard before. Probably sound insane here! Scan on weds so that should put me at ease. Hopefully.

Also before my stomach constantly felt like it was stretching/pulling but don't feel that anymore either

Can you go in for monitoring because of the lack of movement?

dangle90 · 20/08/2017 11:09

I'm not sure, I feel like they might look at me stupid because I'm only 20 weeks... and with me having a scan weds should I just wait :/

I think you should go in for monitoring as soon as possible. Reduced movement is almost always absolutely nothing to worry about, but needs to be checked.

BertrandRussell · 20/08/2017 11:11

Don't wait. Honestly. They are happy to deal with the "worried well"!

MaryShelley1818 · 20/08/2017 11:11

Totally normal...from around 18wks my bump constantly went up and down - some days it looked totally flat. Movement is also very hit and miss until much later. They won't monitor this early. I'm now 23wks and starting to feel daily kicking but won't be in a routine yet.

CuriosityDoor · 20/08/2017 11:12

You should get checked, doesn't matter how far along you are!

dewberries · 20/08/2017 11:24

I am a midwife and I would definitively get yourself checked.

Bluerose27 · 20/08/2017 11:27

Go in. Theyre going to be seeing 20 other people today anyway. Makes no difference to the staff if you're one of them . Put your mind at ease

dangle90 · 20/08/2017 11:42

I'm going to go, where do I go? Does anyone know, do you just go to a&e?

There should be a number for a daycare unit or similar in your notes. In mine it's in the front cover of the folder

dangle90 · 20/08/2017 12:05

I found it. She was very blunt. Basically said they wouldn't do anything at this stage, they'd struggle to pin point heartbeat with it been twins, not to worry and keep my appointment for weds. Now I feel stupid. There so desensitised from hearing it all the time that there just so blunt

Thank you, I actually work at the hospital and know a few sonographers as I work in ct and MRI so I'm going to pop round tomorrow and see if someone will have a quick look for me. I've had 2 private scans and both found heartbeats fine so I know they can find them if they need to, but like you say, it's a Sunday isn't it!

10storeylovesong · 20/08/2017 18:34

Nonsense. I had to go in for reduced movement at 21 weeks with DS1 and they found a large blood clot on my placenta. They can, and should, monitor if you have been feeling regular movement that stops.

dangle90 · 20/08/2017 19:34

She just didn't sound interested at all and kind of fobbed me off because of how far gone I am.
That must of been scary for you, what happened? Hope it all went ok. X

After a number of weeks in and out of hospital, he arrived suddenly at 27 weeks. He is now a healthy and happy 4.5 yer old about to start school in 2 weeks!

I'm sure it's absolutely nothing, but they really should take your concerns seriously, especially with twins. Good luck with it all!

dangle90 · 20/08/2017 20:14

Very scary for you then!! I'm glad to hear all is well now though :).
Yeah I thought they might take it a bit more serious with it been twins but it seemed more of an inconvenience
